It would be nice if furniture snapped according to your bases grid. Right now its a complete free place.

When placing things such as windows, doors, furniture, on existing flat surfaces such as walls and floors, it would be good to have localized guidelines that show when you are aligned to nearby similar objects. I'm thinking of how it works in PowerPoint. So, a window being placed near another window will have a gentle snap to the same height as the nearby window. Somewhat more complex, this could work horizontally, where the spacing between objects can be detected and guided. See attached image; the red line is aligning the height and the blue bars are aligning spacing.
