Missing a marker of personal location on map
On the map it isn't clear where I am, I don't know where I built my base nor where I saw useful items.

It would be cool to know where you are on the map.. I have zero sense of direction -

Alindrena MergedThere is no arrow/marker to indicate where you are on the map. I did see that we get a House Marker, but I don't have a marker for my character anywhere.

BrattyB MergedThis is similar to the "missing marker of personal location" post, but the resolution only helped with where your base is. Not wherever you are on the map, so therefore no way to tell where exactly you are/need to go to get to base.

FelicisJinxAdding the Home marker on the compass doesn't suddenly make the map useful. An arrow marker of your current location and the direction you are facing on the map helps you getting a rough idea of where you want to go next. Way before the ''follow the signal'-part I wanted to check out the oddly shaped base I saw on the map, but since I had no idea where I was, I also did not know which way to go to get there. The map is pretty useless when you cannot see your own location on it.

Joe RobinsonThe Home marker on the compass is great for getting home but when your in the map away from home there's no way to see where you are. an indicator of the players current position on the map would be great. Adding the home marker to the map as well would be great.

Matyssa MergedIs it possible when we open the map to see a point to know where I am exactly?? this is essential to position yourself and advance in the game

KrisWorld Map has North to the right, which makes navigating by it almost impossible. A 'you are here' dot would improve things immensely, also turn the map so that North is up.

MinakieI know a lot of people think that maps are optional in games but, for me, a functional map is a necessary accessibility feature. I have a memory disorder and zero sense of direction, which means that I can't play the game in its current state for more than 1-2 hours without being frustrated that I'm just aimlessly running around the map and getting more and more lost because I don't know where I am or where I need to be. Having an indicator on the map with my character's location is an absolute necessity for me, and being able to place my own markers would also improve my experience.

FrolicAholicUse the buttons to show POI and resource nodes so you can get your location, then navigate from there.

ConradAs an ARMA player I was able to navigate some parts of the map with the visible structures on it and ore resources as a reference point. However, there are not enough structures visible on the map for this to be done effectively as a vast quantity of it is just forest.
I have 2 recommendations:
either add a player marker onto the map
or
add more POI (point of interest/reference onto the map) + compass directions on map + a way to track your heading while moving. -

Earl of MangwichIn addition to the previous mapping and player marker suggestions, it might be helpful to be able to pin/mark/tag locations yourself, such as resource/mining locations, buildings found, any of your worksites/placements, such as the build bench, etc., or quest locations, so that you can look at a “you are here” dot and use the aforementioned pin to find your way back to any marked location of interest.
Apologies if this is elsewhere, but I didn’t see it.
